Eirschele Consulting Services

IDRI Headquarters at 1616 Eastlake

ECS served as the Owner’s Rep and Commissioning Agent for IDRI’s new 56,000 square feet home at 1616 Eastlake Avenue East.

Our primary responsibility was Owner’s Representative, managing and coordinating the design and construction process from concept design through move-in and occupancy. This required close collaboration with the IDRI and Owner/Architect/Contractor Team. Additionally, the ECS Team provided engineering oversight and Commissioning Agent services, especially for the technically complex areas and associated systems such as CGMP clinical manufacturing, biosafety Level 3 labs and vivarium.

This tenant improvement project updated the space to meet IDRI’s current program needs as well as allow for future growth. The majority of the space contains R&D wet laboratories, specialized facilities including a cGMP clinical manufacturing suite, BSL - 1, 2, & 3, and ABSL - 1, 2, & 3 spaces, vivarium, rooms for drug discovery robotics and IDRI’s new Human Immune Monitoring Center.

By re-utilizing materials and office space configurations from the previous tenant, IDRI saved more than $1 million in its build-out, which was put toward developing state-of-the art labs. The space allows IDRI’s staff and scientists, who were previously spread across three floors of a two-building complex, to consolidate almost all activities on one floor.

The ECS team helped IDRI with their goal of science first. Stewart Parker, IDRI CEO. Our main goal is to enable our scientists to do their work in the most collaborative environment to fulfill our mission of researching and developing new products for global infectious diseases.

Testimonial

  • We chose the Eirschele team based on impeccable recommendations from other Northwest life sciences organizations ... Steve understood more about our specialty laboratories than we ourselves did ... We both are greatly indebted to Eirschele Consulting Services and we would like to unconditionally recommend ECS to others.
